Peptide Dosage Calculator

Calculate the reconstitution volume and injection dose for research peptides. Enter your vial size, the volume of bacteriostatic water you used, and the dose you need. Results update live. Supports both 40 IU and 100 IU insulin syringes.

U-100 (100 IU/mL) and U-40 (40 IU/mL) are the two common 1 mL insulin syringe calibrations. Each tick on a U-100 syringe is 0.01 mL; each tick on a U-40 is 0.025 mL.

How to use this calculator

  1. Enter the vial size in milligrams (mg) — the amount of lyophilized peptide powder in the vial.
  2. Enter the bacteriostatic water volume in milliliters (mL) — the amount of diluent you add to the vial to dissolve the powder.
  3. Enter the desired dose in micrograms (mcg). The calculator converts to the volume you need to draw.
  4. Choose your syringe type — U-40 (40 IU per 1 mL) or U-100 (100 IU per 1 mL). The result tells you how many tick marks to fill.
  5. Draw the calculated volume using your insulin syringe and administer per protocol.
How the math works. Concentration (mcg/mL) = vial mg × 1,000 ÷ water mL. Volume to draw (mL) = desired mcg ÷ concentration. Syringe units = volume mL × syringe IU/mL (e.g. on a 100 IU syringe, 0.10 mL = 10 IU; on a 40 IU syringe, 0.10 mL = 4 IU).
